The programme for World Village Festival is completed with a wide range of workshops, children’s activities, talks, music, and exhibitors

The admission free festival dedicated to sustainable development, will be held on May 16–17 in Helsinki’s Lasipalatsi District and at Narinkka Square. As usual, the programme features music, talks, exhibitors, and activities for children. This year, the festival is focusing on an impactful programme of talks and discussions as well as workshops for adults on building a better world. The theme of the festival is Freedom.

World Village Festival presents an impressive lineup of talks and discussions centered around the theme of Freedom, a topic that is more relevant than ever

World Village Festival’s talks and discussions highlight numerous conflicts that threaten freedom, as well as people fighting for it. Keynote speakers include Walden Bello, Joelle Taylor, Teivo Teiviainen, Joseph White Eyes, Michelle Mwelesa, and Freddy Lim. Talks and discussions take place at Bio Rex, Lasipalatsi district of Helsinki on May 16–17, 2026.

International rhythms and topical discussions take over Helsinki city center

World Village Festival held in 16.-17. May will feature performances on by Yona, Mutaveijarit, French-Colombian artist Ëda Diaz, Jarmo Saari Republic, Aizhan Sultan and Vodou Fusion. The admission free festival is held in Helsinki’s Lasipalatsi District and Narinkka Square. This year’s theme is Freedom which is reflected throughout the programme, including workshops, talks, and discussions. The event is organised by Fingo.

World Village Festival to be scaled down in spring 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a prolonged state of uncertainty for event organisers. This is why the organiser of the Word Village Festival, Finnish Development NGOs Fingo, is forced to considerably scale down the event. One of the largest festivals in Finland, this spring’s World Village Festival will be organised on a smaller scale online and, if permitted by the pandemic situation, also live on sites around Helsinki.
