24 000 visitors at World Village Festival – freedom was the topic of discussion at the new festival site in Lasipalatsi District and Narinkka Square

World Village Festival, an admission free event kicking off the festival season, was held on May 16–17 in Helsinki’s Lasipalatsi District and Narinkka Square. The festival attracted 13 000 visitors on Saturday and 10 000 on Sunday. In addition, 1000 viewers followed the Speaker's Stage programme via an online stream. The festival offered music, talks and discussions, workshops, children's programme and exhibitor stands in a cheerful atmosphere. The theme of the festival, Freedom, was evident throughout the programme.
