Exhibitor sign-up now open – World Village Festival adopts vegetarian-only food policy

The exhibitor sign-up for the spring 2024 World Village Festival is now open. The festival has an even stronger focus on sustainable and responsible solutions. Going forward, the festival food vendors will only be serving vegetarian food. The call for the talks and discussions programme is open until 27 November 2023.

World Village Festival drew in 49,000 visitors – spotlight on influencing for a better world for everyone

World Village Festival attracted a crowd of 27,000 on Saturday and 22,000 on Sunday to Suvilahti, Helsinki. Organised for the first time at the Suvilahti site, the civic influence festival was a great success and boasted a sunny and laid-back atmosphere. This year’s theme – Force for Change! – was seen and heard throughout the programme and in encounters with the exhibitors, performers and festivalgoers.

World Village Festival this weekend

World Village Festival goes live this weekend (27–28 May) in Suvilahti, Helsinki. The free-admission event will bring you concerts, dozens of talks and discussions, kids’ programme and 200 exhibitors from CSOs to authorities and food and bazaar vendors. The programme also features Street Art Area performances, workshops, a photo exhibition, evening clubs and pre-festival events. Organised by Fingo, the festival is expected to attract around 50,000 festivalgoers. This year’s theme is Force for Change!

World Village Festival will be full of flavours from dozens of countries

Organised in a few weeks’ time on 27–28 May, World Village Festival will be filled with street food kitchens from a variety of countries, dozens of stands of CSOs and other organisations campaigning for a better world as well as bazaar vendors with their unique products.

Full programme now released

Organised in just over a month on 27–28 May in Suvilahti, Helsinki, World Village Festival has now released its full programme. In addition to music, talks and discussions, there will be plenty to see and do for the entire family and more than 200 exhibitors from CSOs to food vendors. This year’s theme is Force for Change!

Who will be the Global Philanthropist of the year 2023? – Nominate a person

The search for the Global Philanthropist of the year is underway again. The activity of the award recipient has been significant, selfless and has actively improved the world. The winner gets a €1,000 award. Anyone can nominate someone for the award until 30 April. The award is given by Fingo, the umbrella organization of Finnish development organizations, and it is awarded for the third time this year.

Force for change discussed at World Village Festival

World Village Festival will bring individuals and communities interested in the Earth’s future together for solutions and actions in Suvilahti, Helsinki, during the last weekend of May (27–28 May 2023). There will be almost 30 factual programme items featuring changemakers from around the world discussing issues including the relationship between food production and climate change, access of minorities to influence, and the role of policy as a force for change.
