Fingo Talks Futures

The future may seem uncertain, chaotic, and complicated. How are we supposed to make sense of it all, let alone be active changemakers for sustainable futures in the middle of the unknown?

Fingo wants to speed up profound systemic sustainability transformation of societies through civic action. This demands that we imagine alternative futures and share such dreams with others. How to switch from a reactive mode into long term thinking? Could futures thinking provide new perspectives for global and ecologically sustainable development?

For a long time, narratives around futures have been rather Eurocentric, white, heteronormative, and growth oriented. But how are we supposed to really tackle inequality and fundamentally unsustainable lifestyles if we don’t make space for more diverse voices? Fingo wants to expand the power over those narratives and images. Civil society is a critical actor and driver in futures discussions.

Fingo Talks Futures invites global development experts, CSOs, activists, artists, researchers, decision makers, and those interested in exploring new ways of imagining collectively to join us on

Monday November 28th in Sofia Helsinki.

There is seating and vegan breakfast served for 50 people on the venue, Sofiankatu 4C 00170 Helsinki. Sofia Helsinki is accessible for wheelchairs.

If you cannot join us in Sofia, online streaming is available. The link is sent to registered participants before the event.

Please register here by Sunday November 20th.

The event is funded by Sitra’s Futures Frequency partnership programme.
