You are warmly welcome to our traditional research breakfast seminar on Thursday 8 June starting at 8:30 CET + 1 (Helsinki time) in which we will hear about the latest research in the field of global food security and food systems’ sustainability.  

The seminar takes place live at Maalaistentalo, Simonkatu 6, Helsinki, and can be followed online via a Teams-link to be sent to participants prior to the event. 

This time we will be hearing from researchers engaged in Innofood Africa, an EU- funded research programme initiated in 2020 that deals with bottlenecks of the African food value chains. Assistant professor Henry Ndegwa Maina from the University of Helsinki and Natalia Rosa-Sibakov, senior researcher at VTT, will present results obtained so far in the Innofood Africa programme that covers South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. We will also hear African stakeholder reflections and commentaries.
